The Lady Of Shalott

An unrealised model for a modern dance piece
Based on the poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson

The design attempts to recreate the Romantic escapism of the Pre-Raphaelites. Golden arches transport the audience back to medieval chivalry, whilst William Morris’ floral designs Autumn Flowers and Tulip and Willow excite the senses in jewel-like shades. The Dancers are naked, draped in flowing textiles with a medieval twist.
